The 40th Anniversary is one to remember!

Another year of Rushmore Music Camp has been completed.  We added over 200 campers and several new faculty members to the RMC family.  It is great to welcome all of the new people and reminisce with those that are returning.  RMC is a special place that allows us to make music together and make new friends.

The final concert held at Mt. Rushmore was awesome.  You all did a great job and you performed with a lot of enthusiasm.  It is awesome to hear the progress of the performing ensembles from the first rehearsal to the final concert.  The progress that can be made in a week is great!

Thanks to all of the counselors for their hard work and energy to help make RMC a great experience for the campers.

We hope to see all of you next year for the 41st year of Rushmore Music Camp!  

Concert Day!

It's concert day!

The directors and students are putting the finishing touches on the music for the final concert.  We are looking forward to performing at Mt. Rushmore tonight.  It is such a majestic place to perform and we are excited to share music with all of the visitors.  The campers have been working hard all week to give a great concert!  The concert will include performances by the Rushmore Singers, Rushmore Choir, Jazz Band, and Concert Band.  The selections will range from jazz, popular music, and traditional band and choir music.

I hope that you will come out to Mt. Rushmore tonight for the 40th Anniversary Final Concert.  RMC family and friends please join us on the stage for the singing of America the Beautiful during the performance of "Rushmore".   The concert begins at 6:50 - see you there!

Rushmore Music Camp

Hey All! It's a beautiful morning for an outdoor band rehearsal.  The band is sounding great as they prepare for the concert at the Mt. Rushmore Amphitheatre.

The RMC faculty had a great recital last night.  We had a little bit of everything . . . classical music, rock music, and we ended the evening with a performance by the RMC Jazz Combo.  Thanks faculty for a wonderful recital.

The weather has been beautiful this week.  It sounds like today is going to be a hot one.  We are excited for the picnic tonight.  All of the adults at camp are excited for the Cathy's Salad.  Yum!

Tonight the students will share their talents through performances at the student recital.  We are looking forward to the recital tonight.

Rushmore Music Camp Celebrates 40 Years

Rushmore Music Camp is celebrating 40 years of making music come alive in the Black Hills of South Dakota.  We are excited to present our final concert on Friday, August 13th at 6:50 pm at the Mt. Rushmore National Monument Amphitheatre.  Come out to hear this year's Choir, Jazz Band, Rushmore Singers and the Concert Band.  The ensemble directors are Mrs. Ellen Diischer, Dr. Terry Beckler, and Dr. Wendy McCallum.  Come on out and join us on the mountain!
